March 2023 Trip Highlights

At the beginning of March, my husband and I went to Disney World just the two of us. We stayed at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which is in the Epcot resort area and ended up only a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, which was amazing! For our trips we always try to repeat some favorite things and try some “new-to-us” things. So on today’s post, I wanted to share some of the highlights!

Some favorite things we repeated were:

✨Epcot Flower & Garden Festival - I could do a whole post just on this, but this has to be my favorite festival. The flowers, the colors, the amazingly themed food booths, it’s so special! By getting to the World Showcase as soon as it opened we got to try pretty much every food booth we wanted. We were certainly full by the end of the day!!

✨Virtual Queue AND Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy - this is by the the best roller coaster in Disney so we had to do it twice!

✨Topolino Terrace - This is our new favorite date night spot. The food is the best we’ve had on Disney property and the views at the top of the Riviera are unmatched.

✨Fantasmic! - On our last night we watched the newly updated Fantasmic! show in Hollywood Studios. We had not seen it since 2018 and it is my husband’s favorite show, so this was a very special way to end the trip.

Our favorite new things were:

✨Starting the trip with Disney Springs - By doing this, we weren’t too tired yet to just leisurely walk around. Instead of dining reservations, we visiting a few of the lounges (Homecomin’ & Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar) so we could be flexible with our timing. We of course stopped at Gideons for some amazing cookies as well.

✨Steakhouse 71 - Amazing food & now we’ve tried all 3 meals at this restaurant! One of the highlights was a “sauce flight” we got to go with our steak.

✨Garden Rocks Concert Series - I got to see a former lead singer of Journey, Steve Augeri perform and it made my Journey loving heart SO HAPPY. Getting park hopper tickets and being at an Epcot resort allowed us to see this concert on a non-Epcot day, we just stopped by!

✨Character Interactions - My husband had a funny interaction with Chewbacca in Galaxy’s Edge. He tried to come eat some of his breakfast at Ronto Roasters, but Rey told him no! Even as an adult, character interactions can be super special!

✨Teppan Edo - This Hibachi meal at the Japan Pavilion was some of the best I’ve ever had. The bonus was that we stayed on the balcony after dinner and watched Harmonious. This is a great viewing spot!

✨Skyliner - We had never stayed at a Skyliner resort before, so getting to use this transportation method to get to Hollywood Studios and to the Riviera Resort for dinner was great. This transportation method is definitely moving up my list of favorites!

All in all, for me, Disney isn't just for kids. It's a place where families of all shapes and sizes can come together, forget the world around them, and just have fun! If you’re ready to plan your next adults-only getaway, click the button below to get started!
